In a significant moment for the country’s clean energy transition, Chile’s Minister of Energy, Diego Pardo, and CORFO’s Executive Vice President, José Miguel Benavente, jointly announced the official launch of Chile’s first fuel cell tractor, which is now set to enter commercial operation.

This initiative is part of CORFO’s Technology Program (PTEC) and directly addresses Chile’s national strategy for adopting clean energy solutions in freight transportation.

"The arrival of Chile’s first fuel cell tractor is a major milestone for the country’s logistics and transportation industry," said Diego Pardo, Chile’s Minister of Energy. "Chile is actively developing a series of innovative projects focused on green hydrogen. This fuel cell tractor from China is a prime example, joining our logistics operations and supporting the clean energy forklift technology transformation project launched in 2023. Together, these efforts reinforce Chile’s green hydrogen strategy."

The introduction of Feichi’s fuel cell tractor is a key step in modernizing Chile’s transportation sector and optimizing logistics operations. Now in commercial service, this 49-ton hydrogen-powered truck is equipped with a high-performance fuel cell system, offering:
